Many members have been asking for a West Coast Reunion…well now it’s going to happen! Our West Coast Vice President, Harry Harrison has lined up a venue I know we will really enjoy. The location and date for the MCDSA West Coast Reunion will be:
The Leatherneck Club Bar and Galley in Las Vegas, NV.
The Leatherneck Club Bar and Galley is normally closed on Mondays, but will open for us and cater our event on
Monday, 26 October 2026 from 1500-1900.
What is crucial though is the exact number of people that will be in attendance. We absolutely have to know how many people plan to attend at least one week prior for planning purposes. Although, you know we are not turning anyone away! The venue can accommodate 60 people inside. There is a covered area outside should there be more than 60 in attendance.
The following is a writeup from Harry, and I want to take this opportunity to give a big Thank You for taking the reins on this one!
Semper Fidelis!
Danny Burke, MCDSA President
Hello All:
I hope everyone is doing well. We have nailed down the date for the MCDSA West Coast Reunion at the Leatherneck Club in Las Vegas, NV. Usually, folks want to know the 5 W’s. (Who, What, Where, When and Why).
WHO: Marine Corps Distinguished Shooters, spouses, friends and guests
WHAT: MCDSA West Coast Reunion
WHERE: Leatherneck Club – For those who have not been to the Leatherneck Club Bar & Galley previously, here is their website:
Address: 4360 W Spring Mountain Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89102
Phone: (702) 368-1775
WHEN: Monday, 26 October 2026.
WHY: Because life is short and we want to celebrate it with seeing our friends from all over the country, especially those who haven’t made it to the East Coast for our Annual MCDSA Reunion. This gives all of you a chance to catch up with friends and fellow shooters whom you haven’t seen in some time. Las Vegas has always been a destination for vacations, adult entertainment and social gatherings which has plenty of Hotels, RV parks and other amenities to accommodate people.
Air travel: There are plenty of flights which go into Las Vegas from all the major carriers and are usually fairly inexpensive.
Drive Time: For most people living in the Western United States, Las Vegas can be easily reached within an 8-hour drive or less.
The Leatherneck Club, “Named one of the best bars in Las Vegas” will open specifically for us and cater our event on Monday, 26 October 2026. Our initial plan of numbers should be between 30-60 for this event; however, we can go way over that number of bodies, that would not be a problem at all. The LEATHERNECK CLUB is a casual venue offering American grill fare & drinks with walls lined with military memorabilia. The club is West of the I-15 Freeway approximately 1 mile.
We must know how many people plan to attend at least one week prior for planning purposes.
INDIVIDUAL COST: The cost for the event is $40.00 when purchased in advance (and $45.00 at the door).
PLEASE send in your RSVP ASAP so we can get an accurate count on the meals and drinks.
Lodging Information
Obviously, there are numerous hotels in the Las Vegas area, but if you haven’t made arrangements, Ray Bailey called Hotels.com and reserved a room at the RIO Hotel and Casino for $159.00 plus tax for two nights (25 and 26 October). He just looked at the Hotels.com site again and found the same two nights for $129.00 plus tax.
Additional Lodging Information: For retirees who don’t want to be near the Las Vegas Strip and are able to, you can make your own arrangements to book at the Air Force Inns Quarters at Nellis AFB in North Las Vegas.
Nellis Lodging & Inns
5941 Fitzgerald Blvd., Bldg. 556
Nellis AFB, Nevada, 89191
702-652-2711 (Rates are $104 per night and up)
For those who are planning on bringing their RV, there are also RV Locations nearby such as RV Park at Circus Circus, Main Street Station RV Park and others locations. One can “Google RV Parks in Las Vegas” for a listing of all the RV Parks in the Las Vegas Area.
Special NOTE: The NFL-National Football League is now in town. (The home team: The Las Vegas Raiders will be at Home playing against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday the 25th at 15:25 hours on Fox), and the earlier you make your arrangements on where to stay, the better prices you may find.
If you plan on attending, the mailing address for RSVP and check is:
MCDSA, PO Box 134, Quantico, VA 22134
NOTE: If you have a Zelle account, and want to RSVP and pay using Zelle, contact Nelson Ocasio. His contact information is listed in our Membership Directory.
We are starting at 1500 hours for this event and this should give plenty of time to mingle and enjoy all the friends we haven’t seen in a while.
Door Prizes: Upon arrival, everyone will receive one door prize ticket, for the drawing.
